Math Clubs

Note: There will be no pre-scheduled Math Clubs for 2024 due to limited scheduling availability. To schedule a private Math Club please contact Vali (415 627 7261).

Math Clubs are offered twice a year for 5th to 7th graders as per demand.  The Fall Math Club starts in September and is 8 weeks long. The Winter Math Club starts in January and is 8 weeks long. 

Math Club has between 4 and 8 girls in each Grade level. Each week the focus is on a particular math topic. Worksheets, math games and sometimes logic puzzles are used during the 50 minutes to gain knowledge of the area of focus. It is a very interactive class and the girls are encouraged to ask and answer questions. There may be debates on how problems were solved and generally there are many “aha” moments.

Summaries are provided after each Math Club in order to help parents and teachers to understand what was covered. Classes are currently held remotely using Zoom. Each Math Club is supported by one of the Associate Tutors, who may open breakout rooms to work with 1 or 2  students at a time. Some lessons may also include Math Club mentors to provide great role models and to help students to get the most out of their Math Club experience.
